Volunteer

Volunteers are essential in every area of RDA life and fundamental to the continuation of the charity and what it is able to offer.

RDA Jersey currently has around 50 dedicated volunteers and we are always looking for more! Whatever skills you can bring, any age (12+), giving your time to your local RDA group makes a difference to the lives of others.

Volunteers can come from a background with horses and are keen to be in that environment, or have no experience with horses but may be interested to work with children for example - all are welcome.

Each RDA participant generally requires three helpers, one to lead and control the pony and up to two side walkers for safety and guidance. Basic training will be given and a DBS check will be required. Progression may be possible if desired, up to coach level.

There are hourly sessions of up to four ponies every weekday afternoon, term time only and volunteers can choose what sessions would suit them, and how many hours of their time they would like to offer. If you are interested in volunteering with Riding for the Disabled, please contact us by email to:  rda.jersey@gmail.com

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the RDA family, please contact us today.
